Every speaking business operates differently. Gig Central supports Custom CRM Fields, letting you track unique data points like AV preferences, booking budgets, or client details.
This guide walks you through setting up custom fields and mapping them to email templates.
1. Setting Up Custom Fields
- Navigate to Settings > Custom Fields.
- Click Add Custom Field.
- Name the field (e.g., "AV Requirements" or "Client Budget").
- Select the data type:
- Text: General notes and names.
- Number: Budget calculations or attendee counts.
- Select / Checkbox: Multiple choice variables.
2. Accessing Custom Fields in Gigs
Once created:
- Custom fields display on all Kanban CRM gig cards.
- Data entered is mapped to the corresponding gig record.
- Field variables are available as merge tags inside Proposal Templates.
3. How It Works (Behind the Scenes)
- Dynamic Data Schema: Custom attributes are saved in schema-free formats in the database. This allows fields to load dynamically without slowing down dashboard layouts.
- Variable Compiler Integration: The template compiler searches for custom field keys, merging them into emails during delivery as detailed in Configuring Variables.
4. Examples of Custom Fields
- Logistics: "Preferred Airport" (Text) or "Hotel Booked" (Checkbox).
- Stage Requirements: "Microphone Type" (Select: Lavalier, Handheld, Headset).
- Sales Attributes: "Referred By" (Text) or "Audience Count" (Number).
