Gig Central's Monthly Net Margins Report helps you track actual event expenses and calculate speaker profitability.
This guide covers expense logging, book sales, and margin calculations.
1. Tracking Event Expenses
Log travel costs on your gig details page:
- Open the booked gig card on the Kanban CRM.
- Scroll to the Expenses & Billing section.
- Add line items for travel, lodging, or meals, classifying them as tax-deductible categories.
2. Logging Residual & Book Sales
If you sell books, worksheets, or merchandise:
- Add merch logs directly to the gig details card.
- The system sums these sales, adding them to speaking fee revenue.
- Transactions map to details calculated in Stripe Billing.
3. How It Works (Behind the Scenes)
- Expense Compilation: The analytics database queries expense logs dynamically, summing items.
- Net Profit Margins: The engine computes profitability:
Net Profit = Speaking Fees + Merch Sales - Travel Costs. - Analytics Dashboards: Pre-calculated summaries display metrics in CFO Analytics charts.
4. Tips for Expense Management
- Upload Receipts: Upload photos of your receipts to the gig card. The files save to the Global Asset Hub for tax preparation.
- Review Financial Reports: Review reports monthly to identify where travel costs can be optimized.
